“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.”  Brene Brown

Trauma
adults only

Does is feel like life is hard to handle or navigate and you don't know why? It could be that you've suffered from developmental trauma or shock trauma and are experiencing the lingering effects on your system and or agency as an adult.

Shock trauma are unwanted event(s) and or the witnessing of a violent act, house fire, burglary, rape, or other invasive impactful event that inspires fear, helplessness, confusion, or hopelessness and tends to overwhelm our usual coping skills.

Developmental trauma has several pathways. One can experience minimal to severe disruptions in development beginning with ancestral DNA passed down through three or more generations. Environmental trauma during any part of pregnancy, labor and birth.

Shock trauma causes the brain to go into crisis; consequently, the brain and nervous system continue to try and make sense of things long after the original event(s) that took place. This may cause symptoms like intrusive thoughts or feelings, avoidance, arousal, and dissociation.

Often people who suffer from trauma have encountered symptoms such as dissociation, anxiety and depression, relationship issues, assorted behavioral issues, low self-concept, codependency, over or underachieving, lives in either or rather than a spectrum, or experiences mood dysregulation or doesn't allow emotions. The following are a mix of events, both CPTSD and PSTD, that can affect our development and lead to complex trauma as an adult.
